SUMMER PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

In The Seasons Restaurant

This is a FREE EXHIBITION

Running throughout JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST

Framed prints for sale - ask in the Gift Shop

The Llanelli Photographic Society (LPS) has its lively meetings with informative ‘hands-on’ workshops, discussions, guest speakers and a variety of internal and external competitions on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in Dafen Community Hall, Llanelli SA14 8LR. (Alternative summer activities are arranged for July and August.)

Membership of the LPS group automatically becomes membership of The Welsh Photographic Federation and The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. There are many benefits to be gained from the affiliations, such as residential courses, nationwide competitions and up to date information about what is new in the work of photography.

The Society’s history began in 1891 when the first meetings and trips out began. Ferryside, near Carmarthen, was the first visit made and evidence of the second visit to Llanstephan can be seen on the group’s website www.llanelliphoto.org.uk

More recently in May 2011 a spectacular glass trophy was handed over to competition winner, Graham Harries, for his monochrome photography ‘Alone’. This print is on display in the current exhibition until the changeover early July. The Ken Jones Trophy is a new competition and introduced by nephew, Mark, in memory of much-loved Uncle Ken and much missed LPS member.
